We fight.
On an ordinary Tuesday afternoon, the steady rhythm of the workshop floor was broken by the sharp rustle of masking tape.
Arushi, our designer known for her calm demeanor and quiet precision, stood over a finished furniture commission ready for dispatch. In her hands was a Quality Control sheet; on her face, a look of focused annoyance. Beside her stood Shyam from the production team, hands folded and lips pursed, watching her inspect the creations his team had spent weeks crafting. He waited patiently, if slightly tense, for her pencil to mark the checkboxes on her sheet.
One strip of masking tape went down to flag a flaw. Then another. And another. Micro-imperfections utterly invisible to an untrained eye, let alone without a dedicated inspection light, somehow found their way under her radar. With every new strip of tape applied to the surface, Shyam’s brow sank a little lower.
What followed was not a quiet review, but a debate driven by conviction. To an outsider walking in, it might have appeared like a heated confrontation. To the atelier, it was simply the non-negotiable rhythm of the ecosystem. Neither suggested letting a detail pass to save time. Instead, they clashed over tolerances, grain alignments, and structural solutions, defending their respective roles while honoring the same ultimate standard.
These internal battlegrounds exist entirely for the client. When a piece leaves the atelier, it arrives with the certainty that every unseen joint, edge, and surface was fiercely contested and perfected in the workshop
