Sanctuary, Not Show

Discovery often begins in silence. When Praveen first encountered our practice online from Tiruppur, he was seeking something permanent for his family’s new home.

Soon after, Praveen traveled to our gallery in Hyderabad alongside his mother, aunt, and interior designer. At twenty-five, he brought a grounded, observant perspective to the gallery floor, curious not just about surface finishes, but about the ethos, structural integrity, and spirit behind each form.

"The concept we were seeking was simplicity and timelessness."

The living room is planned as a low-slung, grounded social arena, anchored by the neutral-toned Nova sofa and a Celeste coffee table. Framing this core are the Urbane Armchairs, whose rich upholstery and arm details introduce tactile warmth while encouraging relaxed, face-to-face conversation without disrupting the room's open sight lines.

We mapped their daily routines, understood their family rituals, and crafted custom forms for their everyday life. Now, with the home fully inhabited for over a year, we revisited Praveen to reflect on how these objects have settled into daily life.

How has Esvee shaped your family’s daily routines?

“It has been over a year since our furniture arrived. The atelier team guided us so thoughtfully through material and color selections, helping us find choices that fit our space seamlessly. Among all the pieces, the dining table speaks volumes, because it is where we spend the majority of our time together as a family. Our conversations consistently last longer than our meals. From first morning coffees to late-night snacks, it has become the true core of our daily life.”

How did you find us, and what made you feel it belonged in your home?

“I discovered Esvee Atelier on Instagram through the Flow Lounge Chair, which stood out because it was interactive for the person using it. For our home, we wanted furniture that was functional yet interactive, and nothing too aggressively modern. The best way to describe what we were seeking was 'timeless,' and we felt deeply inclined toward Esvee’s philosophy.”

Centered beneath a massive skylight, the indoor courtyard uses the Asana sofa and bench, Axiom armchairs, and Jantar Mantar coffee table to create a distinct, open-ended layout that preserves movement through the atrium while providing a versatile sanctuary for quiet reflection or gathering.

How would you describe your gallery visit?

“During our visit to the Esvee gallery in Hyderabad, we had a very limited window to make our decisions. The team was wonderful in guiding us through the display, and we were immediately drawn to the Butterfly dining and lounge chairs. Having always seen traditional cushions on chairs, seeing an all-wood form crafted this way felt distinct and immediately captured our attention.”

How does living with real, solid wood change the feeling of your home?

“Wood is a luxury today; it's natural. It's warm. It's also about comfort. To us, having furniture made entirely of hardwood, which is sustainable and thoughtfully made, could last generations within our family. Every time we sit or have a conversation around our home, wood makes it much more comfortable and makes us feel calmer and nurtured.”

In the dining room, the expansive Stellar dining table is positioned to capture the changing play of natural light throughout the day. Surrounding the table, the black Butterfly Dining Chairs draw light across their split-back forms, using their sculptural silhouettes to create a rhythmic interplay of light and shadow.

What made you choose simple, quiet designs over something more decorative?

“When we started looking for furniture, the concept we were seeking was simplicity and timelessness. Whatever we placed in our home always felt timeless; it isn't too modern, nor is it outdated. It simply stays constant. After seeing these unique designs, we felt there was no other choice for us. It has already become a true part of our home, and I know it will remain a part of our life for years to come.”

Looking back after a full year, how do you feel about the choices you made?

“We are really happy with what we decided and what we got, and it has grown over time to become a part of the family. Be it the family room, the dining hall, or even the courtyard, all the furniture has become a vital part of our home. It has become a part of our daily lives and a part of our conversations.”

A true sanctuary is never built for display; it is quietly created for the life that unfolds inside.
